Phở Ga

Phở Ga (Chicken), also known as Green PhỞ, is the lighter, fruitier version of the popular Vietnamese comfort food. Our PhỞ Box provides you with all the essential basics – now all you need is the finishing touch, which you can add to your heart's content. Perfect for an aromatic lunch or dinner bursting with freshness and flavor!

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 150g rice noodles
  • 1 bottle of organic bone broth chicken & beef for PHỞ OR PHỞ BÒ
  • 2 tbsp Fish Sauce Royale
  • 2 tbsp Mango Drop
  • spring onions
  • 1 handful of herbs (Thai basil, mint, Vietnamese long coriander)
  • 2 braised chicken drumsticks OR chicken breasts
  • lime slices

ZUBEREITUNG

  • Soak the rice noodles in water according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain well. Tear the herbs into bite-sized pieces and set aside. Slice the scallions into thin rings and prepare 1-2 lime slices.
  • Prepare braised chicken drumsticks OR simply fry up some chicken breast :)
  • For braised chicken drumsticks: Heat 1/2 tbsp rapeseed oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Brown the chicken drumsticks skin-side down for 5–7 minutes, turn them over, and fry the other side for about 3 minutes. Remove the drumsticks, add 1/2 tbsp butter to the pot, and let it melt. Add the pho stock and 1–2 tsp fish sauce royale. Place the drumsticks in the stock so they are half-covered and simmer gently over low heat for 45 minutes (alternatively, bake in the oven at 180°C for 1 hour).
  • Place 1–2 tablespoons of Mango Drop into each bowl, then add the prepared rice noodles. Arrange the herbs, spring onions, lime slices, and braised chicken drumsticks on top. Pour over the heated PHỞ broth and season to taste with Fish Sauce Royal.
